"Patrick Stewart recently spoke candid (again) about Trek in an interview with Jonathan Lennie. In the interview, Stewart says that TNG got "boring" near the end. He also gave his thoughts on Trek X, feeling it will be his last Trek. Here are the goods:
Top bald Yorkshireman Patrick Stewart, now appearing in the X-Men movie, has hit out at the last two seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
The veteran RSC actor, interviewed by the Times, said this week he lost interest in the series the longer he was involved in it.
"I found the longer the series went on, the fewer I wanted to watch," he told the Times\' Jonathan Lennie yesterday.
"And I think that was because in the last couple of years I was fighting boredom. I think we kept the standard pretty consistent, but creatively I was bored and frustrated.
"I felt that my work was not especially interesting and I wasn\'t drawn to watch it."
Stewart follows in the footsteps of Voyager actor Robert Beltran, who launched a scathing attack on the quality of the writing and his lack of important storylines earlier this month.
The Yorkshireman also said in the interview he was preparing for the next Star Trek movie, which he expected to be his last."
