Ok NO!!! This is not like that... although it is similar..
Ok what MY thread is about is simple *ONE-Thread* Role Play..
Everyone Chooses a character, and plays that character...
We write in 3rd person (as in: He whent to the bar/Commander Darren whent to the bar)
And each post, is from the perspective of the character your playing...
For Example:
Stardate: 1593.6
Captain Callahand, was sitting in his chair on the bridge. It was a Quiet Evening and he used the time to work on his log entries. An ensign enterds the brige handing out pad's to the crew, he then stoped infront of the captain.
"Sir, I have a message pad for you!"
He was holding the pad torwards the captain. The Captain Looked up.
"Ahh, thank you ensign, carry on!"
The ensign stood motionless as the captain rewiewd the message.
"Somethng else??" The captain asked.
"Sir, I have been ordered to deliver a relply emidiatly"
The Captains face goes dark.He starts to mumble.
"Always these Admirals, they sit in a chair all day and have forgotten what it means to be out here..." He looks at the ensign.
"AND!!" He shouted "I suppose you too wanna become one of these high ranking chair lovers!!"
"No sir!"
"What??"
"I said NO SIR! My goal is it to become commander sir, and No more."
The capatin was suprised at that answer. He looked at the ensign and then he nodded.
"Very well, I will get your reply.. wait here"
With that he stood up and walked torwards his room.
"Commander Freigs, you have the bridge"
Something like that... Then the next person posts.. He is for example, Commander Freigs.
It would continiue like this:
Commander Freigs was a short bearded man, he was always for a joke and very loved by the crew.
He stood up from his chair as the Captain Left.
"Yes sir!!" He replyed to the captains Command
"Lieutenant, System Update please." He said to the helmsman.
"Everything within standart parameters Sir, all systems fuctioning normaly" She replyed
"Good, thank you." He turned to the ensign, who was still only standing there,
"Sooo, the good old admiral need everything right away once again...
How did you get yourself into that mess young man??" He said laughing. "Workign for an admiral is probably the worst job an ensign can get"
"Sir, yes sir!!" replyed the ensign
"Loosen up mate, this isn't a Court Marshall!"
"Yes Sir,"
The ensign took on a comfortable pose and turned to face the Commander.
"Thank you sir!"
.... Etc.....
That is What I call Role Play,
The first Posters Primary Character or PC was Captain Callahand, And the NON-Player Character or NPC was the ensign.
PC's Can only be controlled by THAT player,
so Player one is the only person who can make The captain move or talk.
NPC's Can be controlled by Everyone, to an extend... So payer two was able to controll the actions of the ensign as well, but he couldn't have madfe him leave or do something, that would change the situvation dramatically unless it has been agreed upon before hand Out Of Chatracter (OOC)
That's the way *I* know how to role Play...
That what they are doing on that site is playing around, but not serious writing...
Inorder to do some serious writing you have to, Create atmosphere...
Ok I didn't really do that in my examples but, Their just that examples,
In a real post I would have started by discribing the scene, and an explanation as to where the ship is and what it's doing..
So... anyone interested?? In some serious writing??
