Ich habe gerade in meiner TV-Zeitung (tv digital) gelesen, dass ein Spin Off "Caprica" geplant sei, welches 50 Jahre vor den aktuellen Ereignissen von BSG spielt. Weiß jemand näheres?
 
Bei treknews gab es schon einige Nachrichten zu den Thema. Hier mal einige:

'Caprica', wie das Konzept vorläufig heißt, soll von den Battlestar Galactica Produzenten Ronald D. Moore und David Eick, sowie Autor Remi Aubuchon kommen.
Zeitlich soll das Spinoff ein halbes Jahrhundert vor den Ereignissen der Hauptserie spielen. Die Menschen der zwölf Kolonien leben in einer friedvollen Gesellschaft, die unserer nicht unähnlich ist, jedoch hat die hoch entwickelte Technologie das Leben fast jeden Bürger zum besseren verändert.

Doch ein kommender Durchbruch in der Robotik steht vor der Tür, ein Durchbruch, der den uralten Traum künstlicher Intelligenz in einem vom Menschen geschaffenen Metallkörper wahr machen soll. Eine lebende Maschine. Ein Cylone.
Verfolgt werden sollen die Leben zweier Familien dieser Zeit, die der Graystones und der Adamas (die Adamas, die wir auch aus BSG kennen). Caprica soll dabei ein fürs Fernsehen neuartiger Mix aus Intrigen, Techno-Action und geschlechterspezifische Politik in einer Science-Fiction Familien-Saga werden.

Im SFX Magazine, in Großbritannien gerade druckfrisch erschienen, gibt es ein exklusives Interview mit Ronald D. Moore, indem er erstmals selbst über den geplanten Spinoff Caprica spricht. Hier sind einige Auszüge:

„Es wird eine andere Art von Serie werden. Mehr ein Drama,“ erklärte Moore. „Es vereint Intrigen und interfamiliäre Politik… es existieren mehrere rivalisierende Formen, die versuchen die gleiche Technologie zu entwickeln. Auch die Regierung spielt dabei eine Rolle, denn sie möchte aus militärischen Gründen von der Technologie profitieren. Dabei wissen wir alle um den Umstand, dass dies alles kein gutes Ende nehmen wird. Es ist ein Szenario der Verdammnis, welches zu etwas sehr schlimmen führen wird und sich direkt vor unseren Augen abspielen wird.“

Wir wollen stattdessen ein Drama daraus machen.“
Diese Infos sind schon einige Monate alt. Es scheint aber, als sei die grobe Richtung schon festgelegt worden.
